QUIQUIRIQUI MATATLAN
This unaged (Joven) Mezcal is produced the village of Santiago Matatlan, famed for its long history of Mezcal production. Made using Espadin Agave,
Quiquiriqui Matatlan is a classic “house style” mezcal. It has a smooth taste with distinct roasted agave flavours and a peppery finish that is characteristic with the Espadin agave. The agave are locally harvested and traditionally roasted in fire pits, crushed using a Tahona (stone wheel) then fermented outside in oak vats relying on natural airborne
yeasts. The final process is a double distillation in small copper stills resulting in a full flavoured mezcal that is perfect as a house pour or for cocktails.

Agave type: Espadin. 48% ABV
QUIQUIRIQUI SAN JUAN DEL RIO
Made on the riverbank at San Juan del Rio by a fourth generation Mezcal producer. The mezcal is a very small production with only approx 600 litres being made from each roast. Quiquiriqui San Juan del Rio has a lively citrus character, underpinned with fresh green agave flavours and floral
notes with the classic peppery Espadin bite. This mezcal is made traditionally using no industrial processes. The liquid is blended after the second distillation using just the heads, hearts and tails.

Agave Type: Wild Tobala. 46.7 ABV
QUIQUIRIQUI TOBALA
Made in Las Margaritas, Oaxaca by Don Petronilo - Production is limited to protect the wild agave population. Tobala are smaller than many cultivated agaves and have flat broad leaves. They like to grow in shaded steep high altitude places making them hard to harvest. They take approx. 10-15 years to mature and yield is much less per plant than more common species.
Method
Made using the traditional techniques of pit roasting, tahona and natural fermentation in wood this mezcal is a single batch release due to the type and scarcity of the wild tobala agave. so enjoy it while you can.
Tasting Notes
We think Quiquiriqui Tobala has coconut and floral hints on the nose, the palate is complex tropical fruits, light smoke and buttery popcorn, ending with a clean mineral finish.
